Includes a review of your symptoms and medical history, discussion of appropriate IUCD/IUS options, and a clear explanation of the procedure with counselling. We will ensure it is safe to proceed and, where needed, arrange any investigations such as swabs or pelvic imaging. If you decide to proceed, we can arrange and book a coil fitting appointment at a suitable date and time.  

A dedicated appointment for insertion of an intrauterine device (coil), carried out by an experienced GP with the support of a trained nurse acting as chaperone and providing support throughout. The procedure is performed in a calm, clinical setting with careful attention to comfort and safety.

Local anaesthetic is used to minimise discomfort, and the coil is inserted using a sterile technique. Following the procedure, you will be given time to recover, along with clear aftercare advice and written instructions on what to expect.

The fee includes the cost of the coil and the procedure. This appointment is arranged following an initial coil consultation and cannot be booked directly online. 

A dedicated appointment for insertion of the Nexplanon contraceptive implant. This appointment is arranged following a completed implant assessment initial consultation and is not available for direct online booking. Includes time to answer any outstanding questions and ensure you feel fully informed and comfortable before proceeding.

The procedure is carried out in a clean, clinical setting with careful attention to comfort and safety throughout. The skin is cleaned and prepared, and local anaesthetic is administered to numb the area before allowing time to take effect. The implant is then inserted using a sterile technique, followed by application of a small dressing and pressure bandage.

You will be provided with clear aftercare advice and written instructions on what to expect following the procedure, with ongoing support available if needed.
